Warhammer Space Marine Crash Fix and Fixes to Errors

First things first! Make sure your PC system meets the requirements to play Warhammer Space Marine for the PC:

Minimum specs:

• OS – Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7
• Processor – 2.0Ghz Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or AMD X2 or better)
• RAM – 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista), 2GB (Windows 7)
• Hard Drive – 20 GB space free (10 GB free after install)
• Video Card – 256MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 (Performance equivalent to an AMD Radeon 3850 or NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT)
• Online Steam account

Recommended specs:

• Processor – Any Quad-core AMD or Intel Processor
• RAM – 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista), 2GB (Windows 7)

• Video Card – 512MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 (Performance equivalent to an AMD Radeon 5750 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260)

Problem #1: Warhammer Space Marine controller fix – Use Logitech Rumblepad 2 instead of Xbox 360 controller (thanks to FrostlanceX)

Problem #2 Warhammer Space Marine controller fix – Use PS3 Gamepad instead of Xbox 360 controller (thanks to roadkill_cr)

Problem #3 Warhammer Space Marine graphics fix – Missing graphics textures

We think this is a problem exclusive to nVidia users. The common fix found was to disable V-sync. Turning off your anti-virus program can also work.

Problem #4 Warhammer Space Marine crash fix – Crash to desktop when saving

This is really odd because saving should preserve your game not wreck it. To fix this, try turning off your anti-virus program (e.g., Kaspersky, McAffee, Norton) because it interferes with the game save interface.

Problem #5 Warhammer Space Marine crash fix – Game randomly crashes and freezes

Another common/frequent problem of Warhammer 40K Space Marine, please go through the following checklist:
Turn off 3D features in your gfx driver
Turn off SLI/Crossfire
Disable dual displays
Unplug any additional attached monitors

Problem #6 Warhammer Space Marine freeze fix – World not loading, stuck at infinite loading screen

Turn off your anti-virus program’s real time scanning feature (Thanks to stormwaltz). Better yet, turn it off altogether when you’re playing Space Marine.

Problem #8 Warhammer Space Marine FPS fix – Graphics performance issues

Try turning off AA and AF from the nVidia / ATI driver control panel and it should improve Space Marine graphics performance.

Problem #9 Warhammer Space Marine launch fix – Game will not start when pressing “Play Game” button

First verify your Steam game cache and try again.

Another way to fix this is to re-install your current Graphics Card drivers, restart the computer, and try again (thanks to Chicago_T3d).

Problem #10 Warhammer Space Marine tweak – Improve FOV, FOV tweak

Many complain that the in-game default FOV is quite small. Unfortunately there is no known config file tweaks at the moment, so be sure to check back.

Problem #11 Warhammer Space Marine chat fix – Turn off voice chat

No known soft-fix for the permanently-enabled voice chat, so manually switching the mic off will do for now.

Problem #12Warhammer Space Marine save fix – Cannot save Multiplayer statistics

Enable your Steam Cloud, and it should save.
