Problem #1 Samsung Galaxy S3 Randomly Restarts / Crashes

To address this, it’s best to isolate the source of the problem one-by-one. Quickly run through these steps to isolate the possible problem with your Samsung Galaxy S3:

  • Uninstall all applications that have been downloaded from the market.
  • Power cycle your phone (turn it off and then back on)
  • Test your phone without any applications.
  • If the phone performs better without apps, you know it is an app issue.
  • If the phone still freezes the issue may be something else.
  • Install each app you use one at a time.
  • Test your phones function after the installation of each app.
  • If the phone functions worse or freezes after downloading a specific application uninstall that app.

Problem #2 Samsung Galaxy S3 Freezes Randomly

The following program will cause your Samsung Galaxy S3 to freeze when combined with open two or three apps running

  • Facebook
  • Google Play
  • Messages

Some of the apps that causes the worst kinds of freezing are the following:

  • Opera mini
  • Mobo player

After using these apps you need to close it and clear the RAM

I would suggest restoring the phone to original condition then adding one app at a time. It is more likely one of your apps is causing the problem.

Problem #3 How to Hard Reset the Samsung Galaxy S3

This is probably going to be one of the most useful tips to resolve and freezing or lock up issues with the S3.

There are multiple ways to reset the Galaxy S3: you can PRESS AND HOLD VOLUME UP + Home Button + Power and your S3 should restart.

If your device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the same buttons for 8-10 seconds. The device will reboot automatically. If this does not solve the problem, perform a factory data reset. In Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything.

Another method to hard reset your Samsung Galaxy S3 is to enter *2767*3855#. Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset! Take out SIM card before full reset.

We hope these helped. Let us know in the comments section if you have other solutions to share, or if you encounter other problems. Please regularly visit as well to help out other users of the Galaxy S3.

Hi….i’m getting some serious lag on the S3 when backing out of things like facebook, ebuddy, internet browser. When I hit the home button the screen comes up with just the wallpaper for about 1 second…..then the apps start to populate the screen. It’s happening more and more often and I’ve disabled the ‘launch SVoice’ setting. Why is this happening?

I am having the same issue. But i have heard some updates are coming to solve these issues for now perform these operations to set your phone back to normal condition
      1. Settings> Developers options> UNCHECK “Do not keep activities”
      2. App> S-Voice > Settings > UNCHECK “Launch S Voice”
      3. If you have any Vault app in your phone Uninstall it.

Boy am I disappointed in this phone. Not it Sunday, went from the iPhone 4s to it, and it is on Sprint. All week I have had issues with service, data signals, and roaming. My iPhone never did any of this. My 4s my son has and side by side with the S3the S3 was roaming and the 4s had 3 bars of regular service.. This was sitting still in my house. Low and behold 2 pro updates and a factory reset did nothing. My Otterbox case came in,mslapped it on and service was same as my iPhone. Not sure if they have some similar issues that my iPhone 4 had with a case needed but it fixed it.

Now tonight I am getting apps loaded screens competed and it freezes. No big deal, right, uh not right. 3 battery removals, and startups and it’s still frozen. Called tech support and was told to take it back. Only had it 6 days. This is all running off the factory setup. Have not even worked towards rooting it yet. Wanted to put it through the test and see how the current setup was. Only went to this phone because I’m tired of Apple draggin their heels on the 5 and sueing anyone that tries to sell a better phone than them. I am an apple fanboy too, house is full of their products but geese enough is enough, c’mon and deal with the competition.

Anyway after 10 years in the industry I know there are lemons out there. So gonna give it one more shot and see what a new one can do. I am over this one for sure. So back to sprint tomorrow at 1 to get another 1. If it works the next 4 days and gives me no issues then I’ll assume that it was just a lemon. If not, then I’ll know the phone just wasn’t meant to be. Did see some blogs about it and sprint and service issues, but the freezing, and nothing working is a pitfall for me. Not able to back it uo and restore it with an iTunes type software kills me, so I definitely will not hard reset it and loose everything time and time again.

Like the phone, loved the camera, and finally got use to Android again. This is my 3rd Android in 3 years. Kids always get my hand me downs and I get the new phones on the market. So Android is not an issue, just hoping this was a lemon, would really like to spin this for a year and see what it’s made of.l

Hi, just bought Galaxy S3 last week, i also have an iPhone 4S. I was enticed to buy the Samsung by his design, the large screen and the fact that, having had both iPhone 4 and the 4S, i felt a bit tired now and I wanted to discover something new. Unfortunately I noticed that the iPhone 4S video’s multimedia department is higher than the Galaxy S3, there are comparisons that shows that on Youtube: Video for S3 stutters (loss of stability even with stabilization-mode on!), compared to those of 4S, the sound is thinny, and the steps of light are adjusted lags behind what is 4S.
Also: WhatsApp fails to send the video quality does not decode them. iPhone 4S does this automatically. Having both devices now i can safely say what i like and what does not. There is no perfect smartphone yet, so I understand. Having 4S and S3 I had the best of both worlds (IOS / Android). But from Samsung was expecting a leap forward in the multimedia department, I do not really expect that the recording was so jerky video and sound so small. On this aspect i’m disappointed on the S3.

I press and hold the three buttons and it doesn’t turn off. Sometimes it just takes pictures of my screen. This phone is sh*t, I wonder how many writers were paid by Samsung to give it such high ratings. I’m writing Consumers Reports and tell them their ratings also stink.

my new s3 suffers from fast battery drain. a percent every few minutes. its absolutely horrible, even with power saver on and auto screen brightness.

the performance is also aweful slow. I took out the 64gb microsd card and the quadrant score jumped from about 3000 to over 4400. the mintoris basic app has a variant of an old qbasic benchmark, and this s3 consistantly scores worse than my razr maxx. this phone will probably be returned…
