Problem #1 Dota 2 Crash Fix – Crash to Desktop When Loading Dota 2
Follow these steps for a possible fix:

- Go to steamapps/common/dota2 (or dota2 beta)/ and run dota.exe
- Game will start but won’t be connected to the Steam network. This will allow you to change settings
- Change all the video settings to lowest. Set it the game to windowed mode.
- Close game
- Launch game from steam client
- Edit settings back to normal

If you’re game randomly crashes upon launching the game, ensure or try the following:

- Turn off SLI / Crossfire then start the game. See if it stabilizes game performance.
- Turn off your anti-virus software before launching the game, but make sure you turn it back on after playing. Make sure Windows Defender is also disabled.

- Disable anti-aliasing and filtering

When I go to change the resolution or any video setting my client freezes on a black screen and my computer also freezes and I have to force a restart on my comp.

When i try to start my dota 2 it goES BLACK screeened.
when the match is started i can’t use any shortkey , I cant type to allies or to all by pressing enter and my left click is not working it signals once i pressed it..

Im getting wierd animations for my right click, teleport, last hit/deny. When I right click I don’t see one green circle, but many small green circles, like bubbles. When I teleport the lines are split into I think about four? Ranged creeps shoots a single autoattack split into four like “llll”

I have similar problem with “crashing” to desktop after launching the game, but the game is actually still running. I can hear music and even button sound when I drag cursor but there is no screen. Can you help me?

hi,my ping outside the game is fine,even while watching live games its fine. But whenever i play it shoots to 300<. What could be the reason. Plz HElp.
After the most recent patch and having clocked over 250 hours of Dota 2 before this problem occurred, about 10-15s after launching the game, the mouse becomes ultra laggy and my internet disconnects and I cannot reconnect unless I restart my computer. This does not happen with any other games and has only started to happen since the latest patch on 21/09/2012.
